- Board of Adjustment
Each year, the Board of County Commissioners appoint the Planning Commission Chair and Vice-Chair to the Board of Adjustment (BOA). The BOA is the decision-making body for variances to the Alamosa County Land Use and Development Code.
- Local Marketing District/CVB (Convention & Visitors Bureau)
Members serve three (3) year terms. The Local Marketing District/Alamosa Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Board meets on the second Thursday of every month unless otherwise posted. Meeting agendas are posted at The Depot, 610 State Avenue, Alamosa, CO, 81101.

Board meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. from October-March and 7:30 p.m. from April-September. Meetings are held at the San Luis Valley Extension Office Building at 1899 U.S. 160 East, Monte Vista, CO 81144. Members are notified of any changes in dates and/or locations. - Rio Grande Basin Roundtable
The Alamosa County Commissioners have announced a “Notice of Vacancy” and accepting applications
for a board position on the Rio Grande Basin Roundtable.
The Rio Grande Basin Roundtable (RGBRT) regularly facilitates discussions on water management issues,
educates Coloradans, and engages communities in water–related projects and information. The RGBRT
is comprised of members of the public who represent diverse agricultural, municipal and industrial,
environmental, and recreational water needs of the Rio Grande Basin. The RGBRT advocates for the Rio
Grande Basin and collaborates with other Roundtables to find solutions to intra-basin and Colorado’s
inter-basin water issues.
Expectations of a board member is to attend the meetings and actively engage in the direction of the Rio
Grande Basin Roundtable. This is an unpaid board position and you must be a resident of Alamosa
County to apply. This is a 3 year term.
The Board meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of every month at 2:00 pm at the SLV
Water Conservancy District Office, 623 E 4 th St, Alamosa, CO and are open to the public.
